After July, TRYX’s price all drop to 199.99 online such as Amazon’s marketplace and in Bestbuy. On eBay, the less popular black model only sells for 160 dollars. TRYX is a very innovative camera in terms of its external design that allows you to take pictures at any awkward angle including taking pictures for yourself. It has 2 model, the black one and the white one. The white one is more popular among Chinese buyers online, but online Bestbuy seems to carry it. The black one is more available at all online ecommerce marketplaces. It began its crazy sale in China in the beginning of September.
- Why TRYX sucks in US.
TRYX is innovative and one of its kind. But I guess it’s because US buyers are aging. They don’t usually accept this type of very Japanese style products. It does not look professoinal nor tough. Why it sucks? More than that is because it’s quality. American consumers are little more conservative and maturer about buying cameras I think. TRYX does not have a real camera lens!! You can see from the picture that TRYX is just like a webcam. It’s lens surely promise that it is a less powerful camera. Thanks for the optics class I have taken. Among all the cameras in Bestbuy displayer, it looks just like a cheap toy maybe.

2. Why it is so so so popular in China
Well, one thing you need to understand is the internet culture and just all about Chinese online and offline culture. a.)Girls like to take pictures of themselves and post them online. b.)girls wants to look pretty c.)Rumor online spreads out fast saying TRYX is the “camera built for taking pictures for girls” It is so amazing that the camera will process the pictures and make them look nice.d.) They are young girls and their parents are rich, they don’t think too much when every one is trying their best to grab a TRYX. e.) It turns out some girls, after purchasing TRYX, posted their pictures taken by TRYX online, and it looked amazing. This is killing, because it stimulates more people trying to buy one.But sadly, no TRYX is available, and the TRYX in HongKong and Japan are way more expensive than the 199.99 dollars TRYX in US. By the way, TRYX’s innovative design and its unique HDR (dynamic range exposure) is unique, and a perfect combination for girls to take pictures for themselves. Talking about taking pictures for yourself at such a close distance, I guess the lens is less a factor.

Weibo, the microbloging service by Sina, is the origin where the rumor started. It is definitely natural, and thus the most powerful campaign! Because if it is planned by Casio, Casio would prepare to sell TRYX in China. But funny thing is, after one month now, at the beginning of October, it is hard to find a TRYX even online. Casio is no longer making them.Weibo is like twitter in China, and personally I think it has more features than Twitter. It is cool and user friendly. It is becoming the greatest marketing tool online but not many weibo users realize that.If you have a Taobao store, you should have a weibo account. From this case, there are one interesting thing I learned about selling to China and Chinese eCommerce. Most of the time, all the Chinese around the world is a whole non-separate online community. No matter where you are, Chinese in America will still use Weibo. I saw Taobao stores selling tons of TRYXs to Australia and Canada and Europe. Why? There are Chinese population there. It is very reasonable to see that after a week of the crazy sale of TRYX in China TRYX’s price in US jumped back to 249.99 in Amazon and most other eCommerce stores. Taobao sellers who can ask their friends to buy a bunch of the TRYX from US are buying all the TRYXs and making the money. I saw some Taobao sellers selling TRYX for 3000RMB, that’s about 468dollars (1dollar=6.4RMB).
