Taobao SEO, very useful eCommerce practice

In China, Taobao SEO means more than baidu SEO, and baidu means much more than google. Taobao is the largest B2C sites like ebay, yet having much better reputation than ebay. I would say 9/10 people in China will go to Taobao to find what they want instead of some ecommerce store. So why wasting time doing SEO if you are selling on Taobao or you want to sell online to China. Open up a Taobao store, and do the Taobao SEO.

I have a Taobao store myself, and have been doing very limited Taobao SEO. now, based on my experience and what I got from http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/large/6305c846gw1dk9g7xehncj.jpg. I will make Taobao SEO clear, at least try to. and it is just having way more fun than google SEO.

Basic Practice (Taobao Ranking factors)

  1. Enter escrow service/ also known as customer warranty. Chinese 消保.
  2. Traffic
  • Taoba
  • Tao-community
  • Taojianghu(SNS)
  • Taobao Dating
  • Taobao Mobile sites

3. How many times you are added as buyers favourite? The more favourites you have will rank you higher

4. The number of items you sold, the more the better

5. Time when item is listed. Usually when you list item on Monday, then every Monday that item tends to rank higher.

6. Is the item recommended by you the owner

7. Is the item recommended and put into store showcase: recommended item tends to rank higher. Every store has a showcase feature.

8.  Your ratings and reviews. Better ratings, you rank higher.

9. Title: is there Keyword in the title

10. Text of description: frequency and relevancy of the KW.

Externall Practice:

  1. URL submission to search engine (Baidu, then google) Notice Souso.com and Sougou.com has a big market share in China also.
  2. Link profile: high PR site back links, Blog comments, Forum posts, Taobao affiliated sites links.
  3. Social: The more social signals will rank your item higher.

dreamsberry SEO effort and 1 Month+ anniversary

dreamsberry is 1 Month old now! It is still in its baby stage providing Chinese ecommerce infomation. This morning, Right after I received a comment from one post advertising their expensive wp SEO plugins, I checked my SEscout account, and trying to see if i really s*u-ck at SEO.

Yes, I know i don’t su*c-k! But the comment the guy left is really helpful, and also his advice will make the post hard to read and unatural which i hate.

I choosed a less competitive Keyword ” Chinese ecommerce blog“, and guess what?

This morning it was ranked #2 in Google! and it has been ranked #6 for 2 days in Bing.

Reluctant to Search

After viewing some blogs on internet inequality and SEO, I was trying to search for the ” top wordpress themes 2011″, but I paused, and am reluctant to do so.

There are many question marks pop up in my head questioning is the result on the first several pages are ture, useful, and honest.

Blogging is a business, but how about honesty? Will google be smart enough to check that? Google can do anything, it knows your history therefore it knows you! Google can check duplicate content, check everything. But will google check if you are writting to attract traffic, or you are really an expert and sharing the pieces of gold? So reluctant to search, and I will ask myself: do they build links to promote this blog so I can see it? Is it just because it is a high PR ranking site, so I see this result? Is it just because the blog having a very successful social run gaining many shares and tweets so it ranked high?

Oh, I can t trust Google. Just feel like there needs to be an alternative. Something like a wolfram search engine for non-science general public. I trust papers more now.

The end of Google domination will come in 2012

Come on! I will spend several minutes write the following with my passion and hatred of what google is becoming due to “capitalized” internet!!

You never find useful info. again using google! Not saying never, but I would say the hot Keywords, if you search for them, all the top results will be either wiki, youtube, facebook, twitter, amazon, ebay, and other business, also one more, blogs. What are those very useful infos? They are dieing and buried thanks to the internet market competitions! Do you think you can find a true non-biased result for “company ABC’s facts”? I assure you now, without actually searching it, there will be this company’s facebook, wiki, and twitter stuffed on the first page google SERPs. google is not good any moreAlso, some sites featuring offer company profiles will pop up there. But none of them are the facts you are looking for. That ABC company is doing business! all the SERPs on the first page directs to ABC’s affiliated sites, and is trying to sell to you ABC’s service/products! Thanks to the SEO efforts and ugly stuffed KWs, and back links built to that site!! And a ture researchers interesting research on that company will never be found on the first page. Yeah, almost, SEO is evil. Just like people changes the order of the nature, and disaster will come some how like the drought due to the Chinese Sanxia dam. SEO is changing the order of natural google algorithms. The algorithm is unfair now. Hopefully, Bing is not going to do the same thing since not many SEOs are focused on Bing. Google is broken, like a old man with broken organs.

Anyway, what Bing is doing is nothing but Google. Can you imagine in a market there is little or no competition? Despite the fact that Google is losing 30% of the Market share to Bing, google is still dominating? It is hurting the users. Google is aquiring tons of great service under its corporation such as Blogger. As experience is telling us, a corporation growing too big is easy to crash. Google is never a search engine any more, it is everything, and it is another word for internet.

I thought internet used to be a place every one is equal as long as you have the quality content, but soon, it will be a place where only rich sites who can afford SEO enjoy.
